Convert ML to OZ

To convert the units you must know which of the following ounce you have:

  • The US customary fluid ounce = 29.5735295625 ml
  • The Imperial fluid ounce aka Canadian fluid oz and UK fluid oz = 28.4130625 ml
  • The US food labelling fluid ounce = 30 ml

Actually, the United States customary fluid ounce is the “normal” liquid ounce, unless you are from Canada or a place belonging to the UK.

In the latter case you should assume the imperial fluid ounce to be correct unit of measurement for the conversion you want to conduct.

The United States nutrition fluid ounce is only about 1.44 percent more than the customary fl oz, and not so well known.

Additional Information

In case you are unsure what kind of ounces you are dealing with, then you may do your math with any unit listed above whilst taking into account that you will be off at most 5.6 percent.

In daily use such as in cooking for instance, it won’t make much of a difference, usually.

Again, this is maximum deviation should you be so unlucky to get the wrong unit.

There are number of common abbreviations for fluid ounces.

They include fl. oz. or oz. fl. and, most often, fl oz.

When it comes to changing volumes, then oz most likely refers to fluid ounces, too.

To denote milliliters one usually uses the symbol ml, but mL is also correct.

The non-food fluid ounces are derived units of measurements from the gallon as follows:

A customary fluid ounce is 1 ⁄ 128 US gallon, and the imperial fluid ounce is 1 ⁄ 160 imperial gallon exactly.

The equivalents in quarts, pints, cups as well as teaspoons and tablespoons can be found on our home page.

ML to OZ Conversion

The volume conversion is simple math:

Just divide the amount in milliliters by 29.57, 28.41 or 30, depending on your unit under consideration, to get the equivalence in fluid oz.

The formula is:

[fl oz] = [ml] / { 29.5735295625 | 28.4130625 | 30 }.

For example, to change 74 ml to customary fluid ounces divide 74 by 29.5735295625 to get approximately 2 1/2 US fl oz.

If you wanted to convert 74 ml to imperial fluid ounces you would get ~ 2.60 UK fl oz by dividing 74 by 28.4130625.

The US fl oz is roughly 4% more than the UK unit of measurement.

And if you have 74 ml of milk (or anything else related to nutrition), then divide 74 by 30 to obtain ~ 2.47 US food labelling fluid ounces.

ML to OZ US

1 ml to oz US = 1 / 29.5735295625 = 0.033814 fl oz

ML to OZ UK / CA

1 ml to oz UK / CA = 1 / 28.4130625 = 0.035195 fl oz

ML to OZ US Nutrition Labelling

1 ml to oz US nutrition = 1 / 30 = 0.033333 fl oz
